Komodo National Park consists of almost thirty islands, of which the three largest are Padar, Rinca, as well as the island of Komodo itself. These islands sit in the Coral Triangle, one of the most biodiverse ecosystems in the world. This tiny section of Indonesia offers so much beauty and bounty of nature that it has been named one of the new Seven Natural Wonders of the World, a place where you can see all that there is to life on earth, its ethereal qualities, its dangerous essence, and the sheer breadth and width of all that life entails here on Earth.

One of the best ways to experience the majesty of Komodo National Park is through liveaboards, journey out on the open ocean, live on the sea as you travel from island to island, nothing holding you down, nothing holding you back, and you will see things you could never see back home. This area sits on the edge of two oceans, the Indian and Pacific Ocean, allowing for a huge selection of dive sites that never run out of unique reefs plus marine life to see and  encounter. Just off the beaches and into the deep and clear waters you can see all manner of critters, including false pipefish, sponges, tunicates, clown frogfish, nudibranchs, manta rays, eagle rays, pygmy seahorse, blue-ringed octopus, whale sharks, ocean sunfish, and hundreds of different species of coral.

The best place to start is by looking for when you want to arrive. The park is open all year round, and no matter when you want to arrive, you can be assured that there will be great diving opportunities and other experiences that you will absolutely want to take part in. The area built up from these islands, the waters around Komodo, Padar, and Rinca, as well as the twenty-six other islands have more than one hundred world class dive sites to be visited, making this a natural location for a liveaboard vacation, where you can be free from terrestrial constraints and surf the waves from one locale to the next, enjoying each site for their own particular quality.
