Each bungalow is comfortably appointed with a bed draped in a mosquito net, ceiling fan, desk and chair, and a cozy seating area with a sofa and coffee table. Private verandas include two sun loungers, a hammock perfect for enjoying breathtaking sunsets, and direct stair access into the crystal-clear ocean waters. Guests are provided with towels and environmentally friendly natural shampoo, shower gel, and soap for a sustainable island stay. Papua Explorers Eco Resort provides scheduled island transfers from Sorong every Sunday and Wednesday. Diving in Raja Ampat is an unforgettable experience for scientists, underwater photographers, beginner divers, and seasoned enthusiasts alike. Situated in the heart of the Coral Triangle, Raja Ampat is recognized as the most marine biodiverse region on the planet. More than 1,427 species of reef fish and over 600 species of coral along with abundant pelagic marine life. Due to the tides and moon phases, some dive sites can experience strong currents and may not be suitable for beginner divers or those uncomfortable diving in current conditions. Our dive guides assess the current direction and strength before each dive. Dive groups are limited to a maximum of six divers and are led by both a head dive guide and an assistant guide. Divers complete a check out dive, and divers are grouped according to experience level. There are plenty of sites with gentle currents available, allowing guests to enjoy a full week of diving without visiting the stronger current sites, although this may mean missing some of Raja Ampat's most iconic dive experiences. For guests who have not dived within the last two years, we recommend completing a refresher course prior to diving. We also strongly recommend certification as an Advanced Open Water Diver and a minimum of 30 logged dives, as this allows access to a wider variety of dive sites and helps divers maintain excellent buoyancy control to protect Raja Ampat's pristine coral reefs and marine life.
