Bahamas Information

The Islands of the Bahamas sit atop massive limestone plateaus rising from deep water. This creates a lifetime of diving possibilities on precipitous walls, fringing reefs, shallows and blue hole caverns. Highlights of diving in the Bahamas include New Providence's wrecks and cinematic reefs, featured in numerous films and documentaries; dolphin encounters near Bimini and Grand Bahama; wall dives on the Tongue of the Ocean; coral gardens in the Exumas; and blue holes in Andros. The Bahamas are equally famous for shark encounters, from choreographed reef shark feedings to open water encounters with tiger, hammerhead, lemon, reef and oceanic white tip sharks. Island tours and water sports fill surface intervals. Nassau adds shopping and night life, while Out Island beaches deliver a calm escape.
