Owners Darren and Nina Rice, originally from the UK, have spent a lifetime in the dive industry, and have run dive centers and liveaboards all over the world and prior to building Matafonua on Ha'Apai, spent15 years as underwater camera crew for feature films, documentaries and television. The onsite dive operation now offers daily dive excursions to the areas pristine dive sites as well as the amazing humpback whale experiences that Tonga is famous for every July through October.
