Honduras Information

The Bay Islands of Honduras—Roatan, Utila and Guanaja— serve up a quintessential mix of Caribbean dive experiences. There are shallows where divers can search for cryptic marine life, sheltered lagoons and slopes where hard corals harbor colorful reef fish, and sponge-covered walls that plunge into the depths. There are wreck dives, drift dives, night dives, shark dives and encounters with the biggest fish in the sea—the whale shark. The three primary islands of the group have distinctly different personalities. Roatan is the epicenter of Bay Islands diving and resort activity, offering everything from laid-back dive lodges to upscale properties. Utila is the choice for kayaking, hikes, wildlife viewing and an out-island vibe, while Guanaja, an island of few roads, delivers a true off-grid vacation experience.
